26th July, 2010

Are you (or your parents) interested in Drama and Singing? Not much on in the school holidays? Would you like to be part of an exciting local project? Then come along to the open auditions for a forthcoming musical review being presented by Horbury Pageant Players, and covering a number of genres both old and new. These auditions will be held on Thursday 5th August at St Mary's Parish Church Hall, Horbury Junction, Wakefield starting from 7:30pm. Details of show dates and rehearsals will be given then. » Results Day - 24th August
20th July, 2010

Results day will be held on Tuesday 24th August. Students will need to sign in at the main hall (year leavers 2010 between 10am and 12pm, and all other years between 12pm and 2pm) to collect their confirmation of results. If students know that they will not be available on that day they can leave a stamped addressed envelope with the Examinations team before the end of July and results will be posted out after the results day. Alternatively, results may be collected by a parent or another adult with a signed letter from the student and/or parent. Proof of ID must be available before results will be issued to anyone other than the student.

» Students assist at Horbury Street Fayre
24th June, 2010

Students from the food group and gardening club manned a stall at the Horbury Street Fayre held on Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 June. Both groups sold items which had been produced by themselves. Buns, biscuits & puddings were on offer from the food group and the gardening club sold vegetable and flower plants as well as taking orders for hanging baskets. The money raised from these sales will be put back into the groups who will utitlise it to benefit the whole school.

» World Cup on Big-Screen...
16th June, 2010

Are you worried about how you will get home next week to watch England in their third World Cup match? Are you stressed that you won't be able to enjoy the game with your friends, cheer the team on with the masses? Enjoy the talents of the team on a big screen?

Well, worry no more!

For one afternoon, and one afternoon only, Horbury School will be screening England versus Slovenia, for students, in our main hall. The football will begin at 3.00 p.m. and will finish at approximately 5.00 p.m. Students can come and watch for free, but any unsuitable behaviour will result in you being asked to leave.

Follow the "Read More" link below for further information, including a copy of the letter despatched home to parents earlier this week, and a copy of the School Restaurant's menu and pricelist for snacks and refreshments during half-time.
