Sixth Form

Welcome to Horbury School - A Specialist Language College 6th Form, I am delighted that you wish to find out more about the College and I hope this Website will help you to understand the many opportunities available to you here.

This is Horbury School's second year of running a 6th Form centre and our aim is to provide a high quality supportive environment offering education courses that equip students with the qualifications, skills and attributes for a successful future in higher education, employment and life. Horbury's 6th Form centre is affiliated by Outwood Grange Academy and students can also access Outwood's courses and facilities by enrolling at Horbury School.

All 6th Form students have a dedicated 6th form study area and a Learning Mentor, Mrs Gillard. Because we offer courses in conjunction with our Aspire Trust partners, Outwood, we can offer a vast array of subjects and tailor make timetables to suit all student's individual needs; A-Level courses, BTECs, Diplomas and the opportunity to resit GCSE subjects. You will be expected to work hard… but you will also be given support to do it.

How do I Apply?

We prefer you to apply on-line (click here) in order to ensure your application is considered promptly. If this is not possible, the same form can be completed electronically and printed / posted, or alternatively it can simply be printed and handwritten. Application forms are also available from the College on request.

When you have submitted the electronic application form, we will arrange personal interviews. Do not worry if you are still uncertain about which subjects to study.  When you apply, we ask you to indicate your likely subjects but you do not need to make a final decision until August, once you have your GCSE results.
